LPG dealers to roll back prices 2 more times in July

After rolling back prices of their products twice so far this month, independent dealers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will implement at least two more rollbacks before July ends.

Radio dzBB reported Friday the LPG Marketers’ Association said the series of rollbacks is due the lowering of the product’s contract prices in the world market.

LPGMA president Arnel Ty said they may implement a 50-centavo-per-kilo price cut this Monday, July 19; and another 50-centavo-per-kilo rollback on July 26 – the day President Aquino delivers his first State of the Nation Address.

Ty said each 50-centavo-per-kilo drop may mean another P6 rollback in the prices of 11-kg LPG tanks.

Last July 13, LPGMA implemented a P6 per 11-kg cylinder price slash.

At present, an 11-kg LPG cylinder tank costs P548, and this will slip further to P536 by the time the two planned price rollbacks take effect.
