6 killed, 2 wounded in Sulu gun attack

SIX persons were killed and two others were wounded when a group of unidentified gunmen opened fire on a house in a remote village in Patikul, Sulu, late Tuesday evening, police reported yesterday.

Sulu Provincial Police Office  reported to Camp Crame that the incident took place at around 7 p.m. in the vicinity of Brgy. Panglahayan in Patikul town, a known bailwick of Abu Sayyaf bandits.

The six fatalities in the shooting incident were identified as Karrah Aroh, Ganday Aroh, Delhana Aroh, Aldimar Aroh, Nulwina Aroh and Lorwina Aroh, while those wounded were named as Narcisa Aroh and Nidzfar Ikson.

Initial investigation conducted by the Patikul Municipal Police stations revealed that the victims were inside their house when they were fired upon by still unknown number of gunmen, the report said.

The six fatalities died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds while the two others were brought to the Sulu Provincial Hospital, where they are being treated for gunshot wounds.  Anthony Vargas
