Female member of notorious rob gang nabbed while campaigning
A FEMALE member of a notorious robbery gang was arrested by authorities while campaigning as village chairman in her hometown in Misamis Oriental, police reported yesterday.
Chief Supt. Nicanor Bartlome, National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) director, identified the suspect as Mary Ann Padillo Angcap,
who uses the aliases of Nikki, Nicky and Mary.
Bartolome said Angcap is a member of the the Ampang Colangco robbery and hold-up group responsible for a series of robbery and hold-up incidents in Metro Manila, Cavite and Pampanga.
Bartolome said Angcap was arrested on Tuesday morning in Tangub City by combined elements of the NCRPO’s Regional Police Intelligence Operation Unit and Tangub City police station.
He said Angcap the suspect’s arrested came after a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Matias Garcia of Regional Trial Court in Bacoor, Cavite in connection with the robbery of a BPI Family Bank branch inside the SM City mall in Molino last Sept. 10.
Bartolome added that Angcap was implicated in the robbery of a Banco de Oro bank branch in SM Pampanga last February, an Asia Trust Bank branch in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth in 2003, and Prudential Bank Evacom branch in Parañaque City in February 2003. Anthony Vargas
