Hudikatura ‘pinagkaisahan’ ng Kongreso

LANTARANG kinatigan ng Senado ang ibinawas na mahigit sa kalahati ng hinihinging badyet ng hudikatura sa Kongreso matapos matuklasang malaki pa ang badyet na hindi nagagastos ng Supreme Court (SC).

Sa pagpapatuloy ng budget hearing ng Senate committee on finance, hiniling ni Sen. Franklin Drilon kay Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez na magsumite ng detalyadong data hinggil sa mga natitirang pondong hindi nagagamit ng SC.

“It’s better that we analyze their budget carefully so that there is less emotion in asking for funds, with threats of judicial revolt. It is better that we are rationale about this and see really what the situation is,” giit ni Drilon.

Partikular na tinutukoy ni Drilon ang natitirang P236.7M pondo mula sa Special Allowance for Judges (SAJ) at Judiciary Development Fund (JDF) bukod pa ang P815.2M na natira sa gastusin ng SC para sa maintenance and operating expenses at capital outlay noong 2008.

“The audited balance sheet of the SC, however, as of December 31, 2008 indicates that P815,210,708 was available in cash for purposes for maintenance and operating expense and capital outlay from the JDF,” giit ni Drilon. Ernie Reyes
