Metro Manila prepares for ‘Juan’

Authorities in Metro Manila on Sunday ordered to bring down billboards to “give way” to typhoon “Juan” (Megi).

Most outdoor advertisers had brought down their billboards to prevent them from causing damage to life and property once “Juan” hits.

Only support structures were left standing in areas where billboards, especially those mounted above high buildings, were placed.

Over the weekend, authorities appealed to outdoor advertisers to bring down their billboards, citing past typhoons where billboards that fell on houses or vehicles caused deaths and injuries. Julian Labores
