Police nab 13 hijackers
THE Highway Patrol Group (HPG) operatives have arrested 13 suspected hijackers and recovered some P2.5-million worth of stolen raw materials used in the manufacture of household products during an operation in Valenzuela City.
The 13 suspects were arrested after operatives from the Special Operations Division under Supt. Ronald Lee intercepted on Tuesday three trucks loaded with 1,000 bags of Talipro plastic resin chemicals at the First Malinta Industrial Subdivision in Valenzuela.
HPG director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina said the suspects hijacked a 40-foot container van in Tondo, Manila last Saturday.
The HPG director identified the suspects as Don Lee and Ariel Alvarado, drivers and crewmembers Jorge Pellazar, Joleto Miranda, Randy Katipunan, Ariel Alcomendas, Bobby Rivera, Bonifacio Sagusay, Jolito sagusay, Reynaldo Chief and Rodel Botrol.
Two other suspects, Mamero Reambillo and Cesar Cabansag, were arrested in Brgy. Libtong Meycauayan, Bulacan, the HPG director said. Anthony Vargas
