Reward for La Salle blast witness raised
INFORMERS who have knowledge about the identity of the perpetrator of the recent grenade blast on the last day of bar examinations last Sept. 26 that left 47 people injured may get P1 million richer.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has decided to raise the ante for anyone who could lead government agents to the identification and eventual arrest of the person behind the attack.
Special Investigator Cecilio Zamora, NBI spokesperson, said that the amount was on top of the P200, 000 reward put up by the Fraternal Order of Utopia, a fraternity based at the Ateneo Law School.
Zamora said the amount was raised by a group of people reportedly close to NBI Director Magtanggol Gatdula. The donors refused to be named.
“Ayaw nila magpakilala kung sino sila. Basta mga kaibigan sila ni Director Gatdula,” Zamora said, adding that the group also condemned the recent blast.
Meanwhile, Zamora refused to give any details on the development of the case saying they were not yet allowed to talk until they have concrete result of the investigation.
“As of now lahat ng sasabihin namin ay pawang hearsay lamang kasi we are still undergoing investigation on the case,” he explained. Jing Villamente
