Suspected motor bike thieves nabbed in Caloocan, QC
SIX suspected motor bike thieves were arrested and several stolen vehicles were recovered in a joint operation by the Quezon and Caloocan City police.
Five of the men were nabbed, while 13 stolen motorcycles were recovered after authorities raided the gang’s lair in Phase 12, Caloocan City on Monday.
A .9-mm pistol with 14 live rounds of ammunition was also seized from one of the men identified as Japar Balang, 45, of Marawi City.
National Capital Regional Police Office (Ncrpo) director, Chief Supt. Nicanor Bartolome identified the four others as Kaironon Diticulan, 25; Nasroding Balang, 26; Jamaela Sultan, 26, all from Marawi, and Anthony Piosla, 35, of San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.
The sixth member of the group, identified as Salvador Rosales, was arrested earlier in the day while he was driving a stolen Honda motorcycle in Brgy. Lipunan, Quezon City.
It was Rosales who led authorities to the five other men.
During his interrogation, Rosales admitted to police that he was part of a group that stole motor bikes, which they sold in Caloocan.
The suspected thieves will be charged of violating Republic Act 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972 before the Caloocan City prosecutors office, according to Bartolome.
He said charges of illegal possession of fire arms would also be filed against Balang. Anthony Vargas
