Is Ka Roger dead? AFP thinks so
THE head of the Southern Luzon Command (Solcom) said Monday that the New People’s Army (NPA) spokesman Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal may have died two years ago.
Solcom chief Lt. Gen. Roland Detabali cited a two-year-old intelligence report that claimed Rosal died while being transported out of a hospital in South Luzon.
“There’s an intelligence report in the past that he (Rosal) expired while being transported out of the hospital… that (information) was about two years ago,” Detabali told defense reporters in a phone-patched interview.
The Solcom chief admitted that the information was not “solid.” He said it passed through several channels before reaching them, thus, the difficulty in validating it.
“But the problem here is locating his body,” Detabali said. “Pero later on, lalabas at lalabas din ‘yan.”
Even captured NPA rebels and Rosal’s family refused to confirm the reports of Rosal’s diabetes and eventual demise. Anthony Vargas
