Sa kanyang Christmas message, sinabi ni Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar, presidente ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, na ang mga krimen tulad ng “extrajudicial killing, terrorism and the like continue to interrupt the smooth progress of national affairs.”

Ngunit aniya, “the most glaring” threat ay ang “unpeace in the mother’s womb,”

“With the approval of RH Bill, a woman’s womb can be a ferocious threat to those who are yet to be born,” ani Odchimar.

“If indeed he said that, Bishop Odchimar’s statement is uncalled for, unbecoming for somebody who is supposed to be one of the pillars of truth dissemination,” ani Iloilo Rep.

“I would like to believe that the good Bishop is exaggerating. The RH bill is not about death and fear as terrorism is, ani Bag-ao, isa ring awtor ng panukala.

“On the contrary, it’s about life and hope and caring for our fellowmen,” dagdag niya.

Meliza Maluntag
