80 distressed OFWs in Kuwait to return home
ABOUT 80 distressed overseas Filipino workers in Kuwait will return to the Philippines this week.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, presidential adviser on OFW concerns, said the OFWs would be arriving on Friday, January 14, at 2:55 p.m. on board Gulf Air flight GF -156
“I am thankful to the embassy and to Kuwait for allowing for the repatriation of our fellow Filipinos. This cooperation just shows our efforts to protect the welfare of our OFWs,” Binay said in a statement on Wednesday.
The mass repatriation was done through the efforts of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, according to Philippine ambassador to Kuwait Shulan Primavera.
