“Manila is particularly vulnerable to flooding as shown by our experience with Ondoy. We must do our part to ensure that the agency responsible for flood control is able to do so. The MMDA is hampered by its 2011 budget being cut by P1 Billion” ayon kay Tiangco.

“If you recall last November 15, the San Juan river flooded several major roads in Quezon City. I was driving from Congress but nearly an hour and a half after I was still at Quezon Avenue” giit pa ni Tiangco, chairman ng House Committee on Metro Manila Development.

“It’s already been predicted that we will be having more or less continuous rainfall because of La Niña. Let’s make sure that MMDA is fully able to do all that is necessary for the implementation of the flood control program of the city. In short, let’s give MMDA its budget.” ayon pa kay Tiangco.
