Anti-overloading law isinulong ni Rep. Castelo

“Instead, there may be three provisions in the existing law on anti-overloading that can be amended. One is to increase the base rates of the Motor Vehicle User’s Charge as applied of freight trucks and trailers. Two is to likewise increase penalty for overloading from 25% to 50% of the fines imposed. And three, the overloading threshold of 13,500 kilograms per axle should be brought down to 9,100 per axle replicating US standards”, the Quezon City solon points out.”

“ For instance, we now should set a limit to the number of axles that a freight truck or trailer can use aside from having brought down to 9,100 kilos per axle as the desired load limit per axle. This time, the range from 2 axles to 22 axles should be trimmed to as much as half. Let us authorize a maximum of only 12 axles under a revised legislative measure that I will gladly sponsor”, ayon pa kay Castelo. Meliza Maluntag
