Bulldogs sasangkal sa bagong recruit
UMAASA ang National University na makakukuha sila ng kampeonato makaraan ang sampung taon nilang pagkauhaw dito.
Ang Bulldogs ay isa na sa mga serious contenders sa Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball tournament matapos kumuha ng bagong coach at isang promising player.
“We have a new coach and a new promising player, who is now playing for us in the Fr. Martin’s Cup,” ayon kay NU athletic director Junel Baculi.
Ang tinutukoy ni Baculi ay si Eric Altamirano, ang bagong head coach ng team at Bobby Ray Parks Jr., ang bagong recruit ng squad.
Ngunit tanong pa rin kung mananatili ang PBA import nang matagal sa kanilang team.
Tinanggap si Altamirano bilang Bulldogs’ new head coach matapos pakawalan ng dating bench tactician ang Philippine Youth basketball team.
“Yes, he will be our head coach,” dagdag ni Baculi. “In fact, he has been handling the practice sessions of the squad for several months now. As for Bobby Ray (Parks), he’s been enrolled as early as last semester and has been playing for us in the Fr. Martin’s Cup.”
Matatandaan na una nang hiningi ng grupo ang serbisyo ni Altamirano kahit noong nakaraang season ngunit hindi agad ito napapayag.
