Nueva Ecija town police chief shot dead by deputy
A TOWN police chief was shot dead by his deputy on late Saturday evening in front of their police headquarters in Talavera town in Nueva Ecija, police reported.
Camp Crame identified the slain police officer as Supt. Ricardo Dayag, the chief of police of Talavera town.
The suspect, Insp. Bernardo Castro, the town deputy police chief, was immediately arrested immediately after the incident.
The reports said Castro, who was reportedly drunk shot his superior several times at around 10:55 p.m. Saturday.
Dayag, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds was rushed to the PJG extension hospital in Talavera, but was pronounced dead-on-arrival by doctors. Anthony Vargas
