Palawan broadcaster shot dead
A PALAWAN-based radio broadcaster was shot dead on Monday by a lone gunman inside a garment store in Puerto Princesa City.
Reports reaching the PNP’s Operations Center in Camp Crame identified the latest victim of media killing as Gerry Ortega, a commentator of Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN)-Palawan dwAR.
Ortega is the 142nd member of the media to be killed since 1986 and the first this year.
According to reports, Ortega was shot in the head and died on the spot inside a garment store in Brgy. San Pedro of he said city.
