Manila cop returns lost P8,000 to owner
A POLICEMAN assigned at the Manila City Hall Police Precinct (Chapa) displayed utmost honesty by returning an envelop with money left behind by a taxpayer in Manila City Hall.
In her report to Mayor Alfredo S. Lim, cash division officer-in-charge Marisa de Guzman said SPO2 Edmund de Jesus was accompanying her sister who was then paying her real property tax in City Hall when he noticed an envelop lying around.
De Jesus picked up the envelop to find out its owner and found eight pieces of P1,000 bills inside.
He immediately sought the help of city personnel to locate the owner of the envelope.
The owner turned out to be a female pastor of the Cosmopolitan Church in Manila named Ester Bartolome. Verlin Ruiz
