11 arrested in Laguna cyber sex den — PNP
MANILA, Philippines – Eleven persons have been arrested by the police after raiding on early dawn Wednesday a handicraft shop that is being used as front for a cybersex den in Biñan, Laguna, police reports said.
Raided by intelligence operatives from Biñan police was the Asian Personal Handicrafts located on JCDC Compound on General Capinpin st., Brgy. Poblacion of said city.
In the said report, Laguna Provincial Police chief, Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz identified the owner of the handicraft and novelty shop being used as front of a cyber-sex den as Maritez Gomez, 33, who was also arrested during the raid.
Also arrested were Jerome Balido, 26; Lawrence Lim, 20; Ryan Christian Daya; Edgar Paraiso, 21; Jeffrey Potesta, 26; Rio Ferreras, 19; Ligaya Laolao, 21; Raniel Munoz, 26; Unice Apostol, 29 and Isauro Embuscado, 34, all are from Binan City.
The police official said that the raid, which was witnessed by local village official, was conducted based on a search warrant issued by Judge Cesar Mangrobang of Regional Trial Court Branch of Imus, Cavite.
Cruz said that eleven chat support agents were chatting at the time the implementation of search warrants, which resulted to the seizure of 15 sets of computers with monitors, four pieces of routers, one piece of ledger journal, avr, a telephone set and assorted cable wires.
Cruz said the raid was conducted after recieving information that the said establishment was engaged in pornography thru electronic commerce aside from selling handicrafts and novelty items.
The police official said the arrested persons will be facing charges of violation of the electronic commerce law. Anthony Vargas
