Another female communist leader nabbed in Negros
ANOTHER female leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) was arrested by government troops early Tuesday evening.
The captured rebel leader, who the military identified as Rowena Navarro, was about to board a plane in Silay City airport when she was arrested by government troops at around 6:20 p.m., the Armed Forces of the Philippines reported Wednesday, March 2.
Navarro was arrested based on a warrant of arrest issued by the San Carlos City Regional Trial Court for arson charges with no bail recommended.
Her arrest came hours after police and military operatives have arrested Vergie Herrero, alias Ka Vivian, reportedly a staff officer of the executive committee of the Komiting Probinsya Masbate.
