Entering US must be radiation free
IN an effort to make the nation free from radiation contamination, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano orders to checked all passengers and cargos coming from Japan.
This develop after the continuing battle of the Japanese authorities contain the radiation leakage and possible nuclear meltdown in one of their power plants, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which was hit by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake that damage the cooling system and leads to the explosions of its reactors.
“And so in an exercise of caution and just to make sure that everyone remains safe, we are doing screening of passengers and/or cargo if there happens to be even a blip in terms of radiation,” she said.
As of the moment Napolito told reports that there is no report that harmful radiation levels had been detected during checks.
She also said that her department is coordinating with other United States agencies to work together to ensure the safety of its citizens. Marjorie Dacoro
