Wang’s, MLQU debut in 2011 MBL Open

TWO more teams make their much-awaited debut on Tuesday, March 15, in the 2011 MBL Open basketball championship at the Lyceum Gym in Intramuros, Manila.

Last  year’s MBL Invitational runner-up Wang’s  Ballclub takes on opening-day winner University of Santo Tomas-Ironcon Builders in the featured match at 8:30 p.m.

CUSA heavyweight Manuel Luis Quezon University will also make its initial appearance as it meets Lyceum of the Philippines-Uratex in the curtain-raiser at 7 p.m.

Handled by coach Pablo Lucas and manager Macky Villarta, Wang’s Balclub will parade former PBA players Biboy Simon (FedEx) and Jonathan Aldave ( Talk N Text), Fil-Am Anthony Cuevas, Romer Diaz, Ryan Regalado, Mario Reyes and  American missionary Joshua Manthe of Kansas City.

UST-Ironcon, handled by coach Pido Jarencio and managed by Jimi Lim, will rely on Jeric Teng,  Clark Bautista, Jeric Fortuna, Chris Camus, Aljohn Mariano, Paolo Pe and 6-6 Cameroon recruit Karin Abdul.
