AFP holds Bayanihan Peace Caravan 2011

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will hold the Bayanihan Peace Caravan 2011 on Wednesday, April 27, highlighted by a concert dubbed as Himagsikan 2011: Rockrakan para sa Kapayapaan.

The activities will start off with the program Building a Convergence for Peace: The Bayanihan Culture to be attended by 100 delegates — 25 Muslim youths, 25 Dumagats from Montalban, Rizal, 25 Christian youths from Culiat and 25 lieutenants.
The Asia America Initiative (AAI) and Youth for Peace Advocacy Movement (YfPAM) will act as moderators of the event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers’ Clubhouse (AFPCOC).

The concert will start with an inter-faith ecumenical prayer for peace at 5:30 p.m. followed by three AFP bands which will perform three original composition and OPM songs.

Selected military singers will also sing the “Bayanihan” and other original compositions while the OPM guest-singers will provide live entertainment.

The Line-Up of OPM Guest Artists and AFP Music Bands include Ogie Alcasid, Noel Cabangon, Cookie Chua, Mitch Valdes, Syato, Seabees Combo of the Philippine Navy, 710th Special Operations Wing (SPOW) Combo of the Philippine Airforce, Philippine Marines Combo and LTJG Alvaro PN. Verlin Ruiz
