Town councilor shot-dead in Ilocos Norte
MANILA, Philippines – A town councilor was shot dead and another person was wounded by two undentified gunmen early Thursday morning in a small village in Ilocos Norte, police reports said Friday.
Reports reaching the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame, identified the victim as Randolph Magno, a councilor of Dingras town in Ilocos Norte.
The reports said, the councilor was shot six-times by the suspects, believed to be hired killers, inside his machine shop in Dingras town.
The councilor reportedly died on the spot.
A tricycle driver told police investigators that the suspects commandeered his vehicle and asked to be taken to the machine shop, where the victim was, the reports said.
The reports said, the Ilocos Norte Provincial Police Office has formed a task force to solve the killing of the town councilor. Anthony Vargas
