Bebeng’s death toll stands at 22
TROPICAL storm Bebeng left the country on Tuesday afternoon, May 10, but not after leaving a trail of death and destruction in the eastern part of the country.
The latest report released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) placed the death toll at 22 with four persons injured and one missing.
The NDRRMC reports also said that of the 22 storm fatalities, 11 were from Camarines Sur, four from Albay, three in Northern Samar and one each from Leyte, Bulacan, Catanduanes and Las Pinas City.
The reports added that the storm displaced or affected a total of 40,286 families or about 209,621 persons from Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila.
The damage to agriculture was placed at P117.8 million. Anthony Vargas
