CIDG nabs 3 suspects in illegal recruitment
THE Anti-Transnational Crime Division (ATCD) operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested three suspects involved in large scale illegal recruitment in an entrapment operation in Mandaluyong City over the weekend.
CIDG Director, Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao, Jr., said that ATCD policemen led by Senior Supt. Bernard Yang arrested Dennis Co, 43, his wife Ma. Renalinda Co, 41, and Analyn Baleña.
They were sacked in an entrapment operation inside the office of DRC Holiday International Travel and Tours located at Upper Ground Floor 10, Globe Telecom Plaza, Pioneer St. corner Madison St. in Mandaluyong City.
Pagdilao said that the arrest of Co stemmed from the complaints of Analiza Caonis Centeno and six others who personally sought the assistance of the CIDG for the arrest of the three suspects.
The CIDG ATCD charged the couple and the other suspect for violation of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act and swindling at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutors Office.
Pagdilao said that the arrest of the Co couple and their companion was the second last week on persons involved in large scale illegal recruitment.
Last April 26, operatives from ATCD arrested Florinda Saunar, 57.
Saunar, who was arrested at Buendia Avenue, in Makati City, has standing warrant of arrests for large scale illegal recruitment committed by a syndicate at the RTC Branch 16 and at Branch 42, both in Manila.
She is also facing 21 counts of estafa in separate courts in Manila. Anthony Vargas
