One dead, one injured as jeep rams motorcycle in Bataan
MANILA, Philippines – One person was reportedly killed following and another one was injured a collision between an owner type jeep and a motorcyle in a remote village in Bataan province on Tuesday morning, police reports said.
Initial reports reaching the office of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) in Camp Crame, said the incident took place at around 9:45 a.m. along Governor Linao Rd., in Brgy. Liyang in Pilar town in Bataan.
The HPG director, Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina identified the fatality in the incident as Jose Valdez of Morong, Bataan while the injured victim was identified as Inigo Pastelero.
Initial investigation revealed that a owner type jeep (CAT-748) driven by Eduardo Iguico was turning left at the said place when it accidentally bumped a Honda Wave motorcycle driven by Valdez with Pastelero as his passenger.
As a result, both vehicles were damage with Valdez and Pastelero being rushed to the a nearby hospital for medical treatment, but Valdez was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians, the reports said.
