P4.2M gagastusin ni PNoy sa Asean meeting
TINATAYANG aabot sa P4.2 million ang gagastusin ng pamahalaan sa biyahe ni Pangulong Benigno “PNoy” Aquino III sa Jakarta, Indonesia para dumalo sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) meeting simula May 7 hanggang May 8.
Ang 54-man delegation ay kinabibilangan nina Foreign Secretary Albert Del Rosario, Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima at Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras.
Kabilang din sa biyahe sina Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary Ramon Carandang, Mindanao Development Authority Chairperson Luwalhati Antonino, DFA Undersecretary Erlinda Basilio, Chief Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant Miguel Perez-Rubio, Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Ramon Vicente Kabigting at DFA Assistant Secretary Victoria Bataclan.
Ayon kay Executive Sec. Jojo Ochoa, ang P4.2 million ay gagamitin para sa hotel accommodations, food, transportation at telecommunications/equipment requirements.
Sinabi ng opisyal na hindi pa kasama rito ang pamasahe ng delegasyon.
“The President will be participating in the plenary sessions and bilateral meetings to pursue initiatives on human rights, disaster risk reduction, protection of migrant workers, peace and security, and environment, as well as the realization of the Millennium Development Goals. And consistent with the President’s previous official foreign trips, every effort was made to keep expenses to the minimum,” ayon kay Ochoa.
Sa 18th ASEAN Summit ay makakapulong ng Pangulo ang mga lider ng Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand at Vietnam kung saan tatalakayin ang mga pangunahing concerns na kinakaharap ng rehiyon. Kris Jose
