Pinoy pug wagi sa Cayman Islands

NANALO ang matangkad na  superbantamweight Filipino prospect na si Alfred Deano via decision laban kay Rudolph Hedge sa kanilang bakbakan sa Cayman Islands, isang British Overseas Territory sa western Caribbean Sea.

“Masaya ako kasi nanalo ako,” sabi ni Deano. “Pero maganda sana kung ‘di siya na-decision kasi ang balak ko sana ay i-knockout siya pero ‘di ko nagawa.”

Ginanap ang laban sa Arts and Recreation Centre sa Camana Bay kung saan si local favorite Charles “Killa ” Whittaker ay nakuha ang bakanteng USBA at WBC Latino 154lb titles sa pamamagitan ng twelve round unanimous decision kontra Keenan Collins.

Kasabay nito, nanalo naman sa hiwalay na laban si Damian Frias via TKO sa round laban kay Alex Perez (welterweight).

Si Peter Lewison ay na-TKO sa round 2 rin si Alex Lubo (super middleweight habang si Wilky Campfort ay nanalo sa 4th round kay Tsetie Davis (middleweight).

Nabatid na ang 19-anyos na si Deano ay matagal nang nagsasanay sa pangangalaga ni trainer Norman Wilson at may kontrata na ito kay Jenrose Wilson.

“Alfred Deano has tested his skills in boxing by fighting against experienced Jamaican opponent Kestna Davis on April 9th, 2011 in The Cayman Islands. He has impressed Filipino fans in the Caribbean as well as Camanians when he demolished his opponent easily by 1st round knockout,” ayon kay trainer Wilson.

Si Deano ay dating kasapi ng Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines kasama nina Victorio Saludar Jr, Crisanto Goda-ren, Aston Palicte, Alton Grijalvo, Wilbert Loberamis, Dodie Boy Peñalosa, Jay-Ar Inson, Jherits Chavez, Glicerio Catolico Jr, Boy Vicera, Rolando Tacuyan, Roquelito Amonsot, Mark John Melligen, Gerson Nietes at RJ Ano-os.
