Eight hi-jackers nabbed in Laguna
MANILA, Philippines – Eight members of a hi-jacking and carjacking group operating in the southern Tagalog region were arrested by the authorities on Saturday following pursuit in Batangas and Laguna, police reports said.
Reports sent to Camp Crame by Laguna police director, Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz, said the eight suspected carjackers were arrested at a junk shop in Brgy. Masili in Calamba City on early dawn Saturday.
Although the report did not identify the suspects, it said the group were behind in the hi-jacking of a six-wheeler truck in Brgy. Darasa in Tanaun City, Batangas last month.
Follow-up and surveillance operations led authorities to the group’s lair in Calamba City resulting to the arrest of the eight suspects and recovery of the hi-jacked truck, the reports said.
The reports added that police are still conducting a pursuit operations to the other members of the groups that are still at large.
