‘Dummy company’ ni Ongpin inurirat ni Enrile

KINUWESTIYON ng Senado ang pagkakaroon ng tinatawag na “dummy company” ng kontrobersiyal na negosyanteng si Roberto Ongpin.

Sa pagdinig ng Senado kaugnay sa multimillion loans sa Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), ginisa ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile si dating DBP president Reynaldo David, kung bakit pinayagan nitong makapanghiram ng P660 milyon pondo ang kompanyang Delta Venture Resources Inc. (DVRI).

Ang DVRI ay sinasabing pag-aari umano ni Ongpin.

Pero sa testimoniya ni Solicitor General Jose Anselmo Cadiz, kinumpirma nitong hindi miyembro ng mga stockholder ng DVRI ang negosyante.

“Why is Mr. Ongpin the one appearing on paper defending this transaction with DVRI and he does not appear on the articles of incorporation? Are the stockholders of DVRI dummies of Mr. Ongpin?” pag-uungkat ni Enrile.

Napag-alaman na dating magkasama sina David at Ongpin sa Philex Mining Corporation.

Dagdag pa ni Enrile: “Why did you go through that subterfuge? Were you instructed by Mr. Ongpin to do that? Are you serving the interest of Mr. Ongpin or the interest of DBP? Mr. Ongpin is the maestro conductor in this.”
