Nobody tells us what and what not to write

TRUTH TO tell, Kuya Pete, ayaw na sana naming patulan ang sentimyento ng isang lady senior production staff ng isang network in reaction to our opinion about a recent pageant.

We will not disagree with that.

But lest she forget, ang aming pagiging manunulat in whatever tabloid that we write for is totally independent from our  status with the station. Napakadali lang namang unwain na sa aming pinagsusulatan, we do not represent the network, otherwise if this should be the premise ay bakit naglalaan kami ng espasyo para sa mga proyekto ng dalawa pang istasyon?

Now, she might ask: bakit nga ba namin isinusulat ang mga programa ng mga kalabang network? The answer is as simple as seeing the treetops glisten with morning dew: we get warmly invited to their events.

For sure, her follow-up question goes: so, binabanatan namin ang mga show ng istasyon just because hindi kami naiimbitahan sa mga presscon? To give an answer is as preposterous as the question. Rebisahin n’yo kaya ang ‘di-mabilang naming magagandang naisulat tungkol sa network na ‘yon—paid or otherwise—dahil we feel they’re worth writing about.

In the same manner na kahit ang mga programa ng dalawa pang netork and even their artists do not escape our editorial criticism.

Lawak-lawakan naman sana ng lady boss na ito ang kanyang pang-unawa, most specially in drawing the line as regards our “dual personality.” At isang mahalagang paalala lang sa kanya, nobody tells us what to write and what not to write.

If at all, we hold responsibility for our writings that are not designed to please anyone. Klaro?

One more thing, she should address her sentiments directly to this writer, hindi ‘yung ipinararating pa niya sa iba ang kanyang mensahe, thus relaying her message through channels.

Millard na di ko na ma-remember ang numero. He is youth personified at talaga namang napaka-bubbly ng personality. Very natural siyang kumilos, and we presume, sarap siguro niyang yakap-yakapin. Magaling siyang sumagot sa mga katanungan at palibhasa sa ibang bansa lumaki, particularly in the US, napakahusay niyang umingles. If he, just in case, win the tilt, I could say na fair lang ang nangyari.

But like I said, I also like numbers 7 and 19. Si 19 ay si Ernest Morales, na taga-Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Kilalang-kila na namin ito lalo’t isa kami sa judge nang manalo siyang Ginoong Sta. Rosa nu’ng 2009.

IF BEAUTY—as they say—is in the eye of the beholder, conversely, malice is in the ear of the hearer.

Nais naming ipagtanggol si KC Concepcion whose attention was reportedly called by the ABS-CBN management following her comment about her boyfriend Piolo Pascual.

In an interview, KC was quoted to have said na tanggap niya si Piolo for what and who he is.

Let’s face it, matagal nang isyung ikinakabit kay Piolo ang kanyang kasarian, pero sino naman kasi ang aktor whose name has not been unfairly dragged into this gender issue? Every actor—it seems—is either of two speculative things: 1.) bakla and  2.) dyowa ng bakla.

Kung bibigyan natin ng malisya ang tinuran ni KC tungkol aa kanyang nobyo, well, then, a little advice here and there had to be in place. Pero huwag naman sanang ipakadiin na ang tinutumbok ni KC ay may kaugnayan sa sexual preferences ni Piolo.

As for ABS-CBN, it should not make any conclusive opinion, kung totoo mang ipinatawag ng istasyon si KC for her statement that reeked of double entendre.
