Abducted female trader released by captors
ALLEGED Moro gunmen have released on Friday evening (November 18) a young female trader from Zamboanga City that they seized over a month ago.
Reports reaching the PNP operations center in Camp Crame said the victim, Monalisa Almonte, was freed by her captors at around 6pm along Varela st. in Zamboanga City.
The victim’s release came following negotiations facilitated by her uncle, Alimuddin Danganan Bual, a member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the reports said.
The reports said no ransom were paid for the release of Almonte, a resident of Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur, who was snatched by armed men last October 8.
The reports added that the victim was turned over to local authorities for debriefing. Anthony Vargas
