Death toll in Zamboanga City explosion rises to 3
THE death toll from late Sunday night (November 27) explosion in Zamboanga City rose to three on Monday with 27 others people wounded by the blast that hit a crowded pension house, police reports said.
Reports reaching Camp Crame’s operations center said that the latest fatality from the explosion, believed to be caused by an improvised explosive device, died while being treated at the hospital.
The reports identified two of the three fatalities as Rowel Barcelona and Jane Barcelona.
Two of the twenty seven wounded people are under intensive care in the hospital with 12 still confined and treated for wounds while 13 others have been discharged from the hospital, reports said.
The incident took place at around 9:30pm when an explosion occurred at one of the rooms of the Atilano Pension House located at Brgy. Canelar in Zamboanga City.
Ordnance team from the military and police are still scouring the explosion site looking for clues as for what type of explosive was used. Anthony Vargas
