Genelyn umaming isang parasite

IN HER entries on Facebook prior to her son Ram Revilla’s gruesome death, mismong si Genelyn Magsaysay na rin ang “nagkanulo” sa kanyang sarili na isa siyang “parasite” na umaasa lang sa sustento para sa kanilang mag-iina.

Walang binanggit si Genelyn kung saan nagmumula ang pinagkukunan niya ng ikinabubuhay ng siyam niyang anak, but obviously, who else could be the source of all this but Don Ramon, the father of her children? For some unknown reason, still on Genelyn’s Facebook entry, ay natigil na raw ang financial support na ‘yon, kung kaya’t she must fend for herself to be able to sustain her family needs.

Ke may katotohanan ang ipinagsisintir ni Genelyn—na maliwanag namang isang isyu para makakuha ng simpatya for a family believed to be forsaken, deprived and abandoned by its patriarch—o wala, the fact remains that this domestic issue which is best resolved between her and the father of her siblings has absolutely no bearing on the ongoing case involving her slain son, dawit ang kanyang dalawang anak.

Kay Genelyn na rin mismo nagmula ang salitang “parasite,” and for all its biological meaning ay aminado siya that for the longest time— perhaps since her eldest child Ram saw the light of day— ay walang oras na hindi siya nakasandal sa ama nito. Genelyn’s demands are, however, valid. Naanakan siya, despuwes, dapat lang siyang sustentuhan.

But Genelyn’s recent Facebook entries about the meager support na maaaring ibiinigay ni Ramon Sr. sa panahon ngayon deserve both understanding and compassion. Pang-unawa with a bit of awa dahil alam naman ng lahat ang kalagayan ng dating actor/politician.

Don Ramon is no longer the same man bursting with so much physical energy, blame it on his health condition. Ang aspeto ba ng kalusugan ng matandang Revilla ang naiisip ni Genelyn, o ang sustento pa ring ipinaglalaban niya?

If there’s a ceasefire between the government troops and the rebels, why can’t there be—at the very least—a temporary “cease-support”?

At the rate things are going, lumilihis na si Genelyn sa crux of the issue, pamemersonal na ang paraan ng kanyang pag-atake sa mga umano’y kakulangan ng ama ng kanyang mga anak. It’s too unfortunate na sa panahong dapat isinusulong ni Genelyn ang karampatang hustisya para kay Ram, the issue now shifts to money, or lack of it against the man who sires all her nine children.

HOW VERY appreciative of Kane, the good-looking guy of ABS-CBN’s CorpComm. Nagpasalamat kasi kami sa kanyang maagang paanyaya to the network’s Christmas party for the entertainment press, through a text message last October 25 pa lang, ha?

Sa December 2, Friday, idaraos ang event na ‘yon at the Dolphy Theatre, home to all the station’s presscons, mapa-TV o proyekto ng Star Cinema. To follow daw ang details ng party na ‘yon, until we learned na ang inihahanda pala nilang tema ay mala-beauty pageant.

My Girl 2011 ang pakontes para sa press, a text announcement made to the entertainment editors who will select from their line-up of columnists kung sino ang pambato ng kanilang diyaryo. Maaaring lumahok ang straight o gay (o straight gay) kung saan magkakabugan ang mga kandidatang reporter in yet the most prestigious beauty contest that is expected to give Shamcey Supsup and Gwendolyn Ruais a run for their money!

Why My Girl? Gusto naming isipin na identified ang phrase na ito sa My Amnesia Girl na blockbuster hit ng Star Cinema at My Binondo Girl na primetime top-rater ng ABS CBN.

Ang tanong, Kuya Pete, who will represent Remate?
