Maynilad using Ipo at its reservoir
IF the discovery made by no less than Bulacan Governor Willy Sy-Alvarado and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members about the Ipo Dam in the Norzagaray town was indeed true that it’s being used without proper authority by the private concessionaire Maynilad Water as its own reservoir, well that’s quite a shocking and alarming revelation.
And PNoy must get into the picture quickly and hold liable those who have crookedly allowed Maynilad to use the facilities at the expense of the government and with sure gains on the part of the water concessionaire.
People from the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), who claim to be astute and honest, have a lot of explaining to do for letting Maynilad use the dam as its own reservoir for 14 years now.
More answerable is the dam management, of course. They certainly have a ready explanation as to why such illegal practice has clandestinely ever taken place for more than a decade.
Something that’s fishy over the water dam.
Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando and other provincial government officials have all the reasons to get piqued as they were doubly aghast by their discovery at this time that they’re still trying to recover from the recent flooding that hugely devastated many parts of Bulacan particularly the coastal municipalities of Calumpit and Hagonoy.
While the revelation would indisputably render the proposed dam synchronization program of the national government inutile, Governor Willy Sy-Alvarado just hits the bull’s eye when he says that it’s a major factor that vastly contributes in the severe flooding on low lying areas especially during typhoon season.
