Police nabs alleged ASG member for Zamboanga City bombing
AUTHORITIES have arrested Tuesday night (November 29) an alleged Abu Sayyaf (ASG) member and a suspect in the bombing of a pension house in Zamboanga City Sunday night, police reports said today.
Initial reports at the PNP operations center in Camp Crame said that ASG member, Hussein Amajad Ahaddin, was arrested by the police at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Muti, Zamboanga City.
The reports said that Ahaddin was tagged by one of the witness as the man who occupied and left a room at Atillano Pension houses minutes before the explosion took place Sunday evening.
Three persons were killed and 27 others were wounded at the said explosion, which army and police post blast investigators said bore the signature of the al-Qaeda linked ASG.
The reports added that Ahaddin is also wanted by the authorities for the role he played in the bombing of Shop-O-Rama in 2001.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Zamboanga City.
