NABASA ko just this morning when I woke up that Lovi Poe’s “Aswang” according to the entertainment columnist of a popular tabloid made a killing supposedly at the box-office.
A sure-fire indication that the movie made money since may ugali raw kasi ang Regal Matriarch na hindi nagpapakita kung di malakas ang kanyang pelikula.
All Saint’s Day,” Papa Boy asseverates.
Kuya Boy’s new love
NOTHING is permanent in show business. Kaya naman this early, Kuya Boy Abunda is thinking of ways and means to augment his income in preparation for the rainy days.
“I won’t be hosting teevee programs for life so in preparation for the rainy days, I’m investing on a little business that would sustain my income in the years that I won’t be that visible on teevee anymore hosting my own show.”
In this regard, Kuya Boy has invested a big chunk of his earnings on this restaurant business, the main owner of which happens to be his bossom buddy Mr. Boy So.
And honey, it’s within the reach of everyone for where in the world can you find a buffet that costs ninety-nine pesos? Only at Sir Boy’s Food Republique!
The resto is one of the five restaurants under the La Carmela group. It offers a wide array of sumptuous Filipino food (lutong bahay) at very affordable prices from adobo, kare-kare, mechado, Bicol express, tinola, sisig, bulalo, crispy pata, kaldereta, puchero, sinigang and more.
The centerpiece of the restaurant is the eat-all-you-can P99 buffet from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (99-10-10). Also found in the Food Republique are Dimsum Boy (pork siomai, chicken feet, kutchay dumpling, spare ribs, wanton noodles), Sir Boy’s BBQ (pork and chicken BBQ, Bam-i), Sweet Boy (all cakes and pastries), and Sir Boy’s Dampa (fresh seafood cooked either grilled or with soup (sinigang based). These outlets are not part of the eat all you can buffet.
“I love to eat so I decided to invest in this kind of business that will keep me liquid and financially stable in my older years.
That’s how Sir Boy’s Food Republique has come into fruition.
“It is home for the best lutong bahay Filipino cuisine and a place where families, and friends can eat with gusto like they are home.
“The restaurant is unique with a menu that varies daily. Every month a specific regional dish like Ilocano, Kabalen, Ilonggo, Waray and many others are featured.
With its 300 seating capacity, it is an ideal venue to celebrate the most important events of your life. Since its soft opening last October 18, many have already reserved the place for birthday celebrations, medical missions, and a regular breakfast club (every Saturday).
“Try it, di ako mapahihiya.
“Our place is located at No. 29 Panay Avenue cor. near Roces Street, Quezon City. It is also near the Capitol Medical Center. For inquiries and reservations, please call (0917) 638-8003 or 227-0300.
“I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with the kind of service that we offer,” he asseverates.
HAHAHAHAHA! How uproariously funny.
That’s the 64 dollar question that’s roiling in the minds of most entertaiment writers these days.
Whatever’s the answer, only the sophisticated actress knows for sure.
Ate Vi’s unforgettable
KUNG ang following ng ibang artistang kapanabayan niya’y medyo nag-dwindle na as time goes by, Queenstar Vilma Santos’ formidable following appear to have mushroomed as years go by.
Why is that so?
Simple lang, nagi-effort kasi si Ate Vi na mapalapit sa kanyang mga tagahanga kaya laging nasa tabi niya ang mga ito at kung mapalayo ma’y they never fail to keep in touch.
Nang minsang magkasakit ang isa niyang loyal fan from the faraway General Santos City, she need not be told twice about it, nagkusa na siyang magpadala ng tulong kaya lalong napamahal siya rito.
She knows how to give them back the kind of love that they’ve given her all these years.
Gusto nila’y lagi-laging nasa receiving end and never did they bother to reciprocate the love and devotion that they get from them.
But not our Ate Vi. she knows when pay back time is and that makes her all the more humane in as far as her millions of followers are concerned.
No wonder, she’s been around for so long and yet the strength of her following has never dwindled or dissipated but has wonderfully augmented.
His cool answer was hindi pa raw.
Why is that so?
“Kahit magkita man kami o hindi magkita, she’s always in my heart,” he says with full eloquence.
“I don’t have to prove anything pa,” he adds with such serenity, he overwhelms us with his stoic answer. “Magkita man kami o hindi na, she’ll always be in my heart and nothing can ever change that.”
Real love is not measured with how often you get to see each other. It’s the thought that counts!
Going back to the fantaserye Kokak, kamuntik na palang di tanggapin ito ni Direk Ricky Davao.
“For if not, malaki siguro ang pagsisisi ko.”
Kung dati kasi’y medyo bilugan siya, this time she is a lot slimmer and almost as comely as before.
Anyway, basing from the trailer that we’ve seen, mukhang exciting nga ang millennium version ng Kokak dahil bukod sa sosi at magaling ang direktor, bonggacious ang pagsasama-sama ng mga talents na never pang napagsama-sama before.
Incidentally, Ruben Marcelino’s Kokak begins airing on November 14 after Eat Bulaga on GMA-7’s Afternoon Primetime.
Kokak can also be seen in the US and Canada, Middle East and Asia Pacific starting November 16 on GMA Pinoy TV.
