As a result, no less than Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, who was tasked by PNoy to lead the campaign, was all praises for the all-out support coming from all walks of life the PPUR got.
For one, the city of Navotas emerges as one of the local governments that tremendously maximized its resources as indicated by the over-whelming support by its residents to the success of the campaign.
Extra-jubilant Mayor John Reynald Tiangco, whose personal contribution to the drive was posting encouraging messages through his Facebook and Twitter account, attributes the feat through the available media of the city government and support from the local folks.
“Puerto Princesa Underground River really deserves to be one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Indeed, it is one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, work of nature in the world,” the mayor says.
City ‘s information officer Jayne Banayad says the local government was so obliging to the extent of producing a number of streamers that showed support to PPUR and steps on how to vote which were placed in strategic areas all over the coastal city.
With the assistance of the Navotas Command and Action Center, the message was delivered to even more Navoteños using a text blast and public address system while the Management Information System Office helped through consistently posting the message in the official website of the city, she says.
