Woman tries to steal actor’s safety vault
THE police have taken into custody on early dawn a 56-year old woman who tried to cart away a vault loaded with valuables from the house of TV/movie actor and Quezon City Councilor Alfred Vargas.
Initial police reports reaching Camp Crame said that the suspect, identified as Clarita Florida, was immediately nabbed by the actor’s assistant while she was loading the actor’s safety vault on a taxi.
Initial police investigation showed Florida tried to take out Vargas’ safety vault when she was left alone in the councilor’s house in Don Antonio Heights, a posh subdivision in Quezon City.
The reports said that while the suspect was loading the safety vault inside the taxi, she was prevented by the actor’s assistant who immediately informed the police about the incident.
The report said that the suspect claimed to investigators that she took the vault because someone called her and claimed her employer had figured in an accident and needed money for hospital bills.
But police investigators doubted her claim to which the suspect later admitted that she needed some money to open up a new business and said that she acted alone. The suspect will be charged for theft. Anthony Vargas
