3 towers in Bohol bombed by rebels – PNP
MANILA, Philippines – Suspected communist rebels on early Sunday blew-up three powerlines in a remote village in Bohol province causing only slight damage, police reports said.
Initial reports reaching Camp Crame saifd that three near simultaneous explosions reportedly took place at around 7am Sunday in Brgy. Sta. Catalina, Sagbayan town in Bohol.
Hit by the explosions were three newly erected steel tower of Transco in the said area, reports said.
The reports said the suspects planted improvised explosive devices at said steel towers, which was undamaged by the explosions.
Elements of the Bohol Provincial Police Office are investigating the said incident while security in other similar sites were tightened, reports said.
