Abu Sayyaf commander killed in Basilan
MANILA, Philippines – One alleged Abu Sayyaf (ASG) commander was killed as goverment troops continues with its pursuit operations against Islamic militants in Basilan province.
Reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo, Colonel Ricardo Visaya, commander of Joint Task Force Basilan identified the slain ASG Commander as Mohammadan Musallain alias Toto Yohoo.
Visaya said Musallain was killed by army scout rangers during an encounter last Wednesday in a remote area of Brgy. Cabebeng in Sumisip town in Basilan.
Troops recovered from Musallain one .45 caliber pistol and a hand grenade.
