Bomb plot in Cotabato City foiled — PNP
MANILA, Philippines – Government security forces on early Tuesday morning foiled another ‘terror’ plot in Cotabato City following the discovery of an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in a library, police and military reports said.
Reports in Camp Crame said the IED, placed inside a yellow sando bag, was found at around 7:40 a.m. at the stairs of the exit door of the Cotabato City State Polytechnic Library.
Elements of Police Station 2 of Cotabato City police quickly cordoned off the area where the IED was found, reports said.
The reports added that army ordnance personnel and Joint Task Force Kutawato conducted disruption procedure on the discovered IED.
Recovered from the site were one 40mm ammo with wiring connected to a 3210 cellphone as triggering device, reports said.
Authorities are investigating the said incident.
