Banat kay Rep. Tupas, diversionary tactic lang

NANINIWALA ang Malakanyang na malinaw na diversionary tactic lamang ang impormasyon kaugnay sa P50-million mansion sa Quezon City ng lead public prosecutor na si Iloilo Rep. Niel Tupas Jr.

Nauna nang pinabulaanan ni Tupas ang balita kung saan sinabi niya na ang bahay na kanyang nabili  sa Xavierville Subdivision noong nakaraang taon ay nagkakahalaga lamang ng P14 million.

“That obviously… is a diversion from what the actual issue is,” ayon kay deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte sabay sabing “The issue actually here is the impeachment of the Chief Justice (Renato Corona). Ano po ba ‘yung isyu kung bakit may impeachment? ‘Yung fitness po ni Chief Justice Corona ang issue. So, for all intents and purposes, the issue should be focused on his fitness.”

Kasalukuyang ginigisa si Corona sa Senado kaugnay sa betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution at graft and corruption.

Sinabi ng prosekusyon na nakabili si Corona ng multi-milyong pisong ari-arian na malabong magawa nito dahil sa maliit na sahod bilang opisyal ng pamahalaan.

Binigyang diin ni Usec. Valte na hindi importante ang halaga ng ari-arian dahil ang mahalaga aniya ay ang aktuwal na halaga na ipinagbigay-alam nito sa publiko na naka-manipesto sa statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth nito.

“Congressman Tupas has already explained that last year that they acquired a house and lot. He has said already that he will be including the property in the relevant SALN for April. He will be including the property in his SALN as of December 30, 2011,” ang pahayag nito.
