Crowd for INC evangelical event continues to swell
MANILA, Philippines – The number of people that are taking part in an evangelical mission of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) this Tuesday continues to swell, but police say the situation still remain peaceful.
Latest monitoring update by the PNP National Operations Center (NOC) said the number of people taking part at the INC event at the Quirino Grandstand have already swelled to 160,000 on Tuesday afternoon.
Likewise, the PNP reports also said that in Tarlac City around 100,000 INC members have also showed up at the Tarlac Recreational Park in Tarlac City for the conduct of similar activity.
PNP spokesman, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., said earlier that the National Capital Regional Police Office (Ncrpo) will be deploying around 500 police personnel at the Quirino Grandstand.
The PNP spokesman added that additional 500 police personnel have also been placed on standby at Camp Crame as part of security measure for the said religious activity by the INC.
Cruz said that the situation at the Quirino Grandstand still remain ‘peaceful and orderly.”
The PNP Highway Patrol Group under Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina, has also deployed several mobile patrol vehicle to ensure smooth flow of traffic and additional security.
