HPG agents recover stolen vehicles
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) Highway Patrol Group recovered two stolen vehicles in the provinces the past days, with one stolen in Quezon City eight years ago, and another stolen in Makati City eight years ago.
HPG director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina said his men in Camarines Sur recovered an L300 Mitsubishi van (ZLV-641) after its new owner identified as Elmer Navalez, of Naga City, tried to secure a clearance for the vehicle last Monday.
When checked, the van found to have been reported stolen by RMR Electric Corporation while parked unattended in Sauyo road, Novaliches, QC on November 24, 2004.
Espina said HPG personnel in General Santos City also recovered last Saturday a Toyota Corolla (WBM-291) which was reported as forcibly taken from its driver along Vito Cruz extension in Pasong Tamo, Makati City on August 13, 2002.
Espina said the car was flagged down along the national highway as it has no LTO validating stickers.
Its present driver identified as Jezreel Hechanova was held for investigation.
