Lin lifts Knicks over Mavs
JEREMY LIN scored 28 points and issued a career-high 14 assists to lead the New York Knicks over the defending champions Dallas Mavericks on Sunday (Monday in Manila) in the National Basketball Association regular season.
The win improved the Knicks’ record to 6-1 with Lin in the starting line-up and snapped the six-game winning run of the Mavericks.
“Looking back, it’s like I was watching them win the championship last year, and that’s obviously where this team wants to go,” Lin said.
“This is helpful to us, not just to me but to us, just to be able to see where our team can go and what we can become, and I think that’s the biggest takeaway from tonight,” he said.
His performance also made up for his sub-par effort in a loss against lowly New Orleans Hornets in their last outing where he committed nine turnovers.
In other games, Miami rolled past Orlando, 90-78, to improve its league-leading mark to 25-7; Detroit downed Boston, 96-81; Indiana toppled Charlotte, 108-73; Cleveland squeaked past Sacramento, 93-92; Milwaukee beat New Jersey, 92-85; Houston overwhelmed Utah, 101-85; and Minnesota edged Philadelphia, 92-91.
