2 killed, 8 wounded in Jolo bomb blast
MANILA, Philippines – Two persons were killed and eight others injured following a powerful explosion in downtown Jolo, Sulu on early Saturday night, military and police reports said.
Initial reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo said that an improvised explosive device (IED) went off at around 6:55 pm just outside of Cleopatra Commercial Store along Serantes St., in Jolo.
The reports said that two persons were killed in the explosion and eight others sustained shrapnel wounds.
Identities of the victims were not yet available while the motives and suspects behind the explosion still remain unknown, reports said.
