3 dead, 17 injured as van hit three along NLEX
THREE persons died and 17 others were injured after a family van overturned along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Mexico, Pampanga on late Wednesday night, police reports said Thursday.
Reports in Camp Crame said that the deadly vehicular accident occurred at around 11:35 pm Thursday along the Km post 77+200 of the Southbound lane of NLEX at Suclaban, Mexico, Pampanga.
The reports said that a Toyota Hi-Ace van (SKE-112), driven by a certain Romeo Palalon, was traveling at the said place when the driver lost control of the van’s steering wheel.
The van then hit a slope of the culvert, overturned and hit a tree on right embankment of the road resulting to the death of three passengers and injury to 17 others, the reports said.
The driver of the van is now under the custody of Mexico Municipal Police Station and being investigated for the cause of the accident.
