Abducted village chief, released by captors
A VILLAGE chief abducted by unidentified gunmen in Sulu last Tuesday (March 6) was safely released by his captors on Thursday afternoon (March 8) following intercession of local leaders in the province, police reports said today.
Camp Crame reports said Rodimar Tingkahan, chairman of Brgy. Poblacion of Parang town in Sulu was released by his captors at Brgy. Pasil in Indanan town of the same province at around 3 p.m.
The reports said the victim was released by his captors through the efforts of Mayor Jakiri of Indanan, former Rep. Yusop Jikiri and other barangay officials of Indanan.
Tingkahan was brought to the Sulu Provincial Police office for debriefing and then to the Jolo Provincial hospital for medical treatment, reports said.
The reports said the family of the victim requested for his turn over to his father and uncle, Rugus Tingkahan, a retired police official and former Assemblyman Garcia Tingkahan. Anthony Vargas
