“our position is that we are not in agreement with the imposition of the death penalty. Given the present justice system, there’s a likelihood that because of our pro-justice system, we have…there’s a likelihood that if we imposed the death penalty baka ‘yung maling—’yung taong walang sala ay baka <maparusahan> at patawan ng death penalty. And that’s also the position of the President during his campaign that we are against death penalty,” anito.

Bahala na aniya ang pinagsamang puwersa ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa usaping ito.

“Yon na nga eh. ‘Yon ang ano… I think that’s—we can ask… We will discuss it with Dinky, Secretary Soliman, and also DILG also in terms of values formation. But again it’s important that the barangay and everybody concerned should help in the prevention of crimes. Like in the case of household crimes being committed inside the house so it’s really hard to predict; it really requires values formation and so we will ask Secretary Soliman if we have resources to provide that on a barangay level,” aniya pa rin.
